Zimbabwe

Hunting in Zimbabwe is regarded as still value for your money. Zimbabwe with its huge Game Reserves and Hunting concessions is challenge even to the most experienced hunter. 

 

Hunting in Zimbabwe is conducted on three differnt types of land:

1) Government Land - which includes National Parks

2) Tribal or Communual Land - some of these resort under the CAMPFIRE project

3) Private Land.

 

Most Government and Communual Land is non-fenced and comprises of thousands of acres. Verster Safaris have access to some of these hunting areas to mention but two here: 44 000 ha (108 700 acres) and another 238 000 acres respectively.

 

Zimbabwe hunting areas and hunting in Zimbabwe in some areas still resembles African hunting as in the "Wild Africa" of years gone by. Animals aplenty. Hunting in Zimbabwe is done on foot.

 

Hunting in Zimbabwe for Elephant, you will be glad to know that an Elephant population of 100,000 calls Zimbabwe their home. Hunting for the large cats in Zimbabwe, namely Lion and Leopard is still allowed, albeit on strict quota allocations and succes rate is high. Hunting in Zimbabwe of the large cats are done predominantly over bait. Hunting Cape Buffalo will be rewarding as there are huge herds of Buffalo (Syncerus caffer caffer).

 

Hunting in Zimbabwe allows you to hunt four of the Big Five, addition to that you can also hunt Crocodile and Hippo.

Apart from the Dangerous game, there is also Plains Game, Zebra, Impala, Kudu, Sharpe's Grysbok, Warthog, Waterbuck and the Livingstone Eland
